Amir Samnani
Nutritionist
Amir is a full time Nutritionist contributing to ENN's diverse portfolio, with a current emphasis on Maternal Nutrition, Wasting Stunting Concurrence (WaSt), management of nutritionally at-risk infants under 6 months and their mothers (MAMI), and Adolescent Nutrition. Amir is the sub-editor of ENN's flagship Publication - Field Exchange. Amir leverages his extensive experience in Asia to strengthen ENN's connections in the region. He also plays a crucial role in supporting ENN's initiatives with the Global Nutrition Cluster - Technical Alliance (GNC-TA).
With over 9 years of experience as a public health professional, Amir specialises in Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition. He has held diverse positions with public health departments and international non-governmental organizations, including Action Against Hunger, Nutrition International, and UNICEF, across both developmental and humanitarian contexts. In his previous role with UNICEF Pakistan, Amir served as an Integrated Service Delivery Consultant in polio super-high-risk councils of Sindh Province, ensuring integrated services for communities facing multiple deprivations.
Amir is currently pursuing a PhD fellowship in Population and Public Health from the Aga Khan University, Pakistan. He holds an MSc in Health Policy & Management from the Aga Khan University, and an MBA in Health Care Management from Dow University of Health Sciences.
Amir's expertise spans CMAM program planning and implementation, along with significant experience in research and nutrition assessments, including SMART surveys, Link NCA, and IPC Food Security analysis for Chronic and Acute Food Insecurity and acute malnutrition. He is also certified at IPC level 2 for advanced analysis and serves as a Co-facilitator for Acute Food Insecurity (IPC Version 3.0), recognized by IPC global support unit and IPC global steering committee.
