Tools to support cash transfer programmes
The Cash Learning Project (CaLP) is composed of a steering committee of Oxfam GB, the British Red Cross, Save the Children, the Norwegian Refugee Council and Action Against Hunger/ACF International. These organisations have come together to support capacity building, research and information-sharing on cash transfer programming as an effective tool to help deliver aid in times of crisis.
Cash transfer programming in urban emergencies: A toolkit for practitioners
The Cash Learning Partnership (CaLP) undertook a study of the current status and impact of urban emergency response programmes that utilise cash transfer programming. Informed by this study, the Cash Transfer Programming in Urban Emergencies toolkit was produced in 2010. It brings together the collective knowledge of best practices, key issues in programming, and adaptations of cash transfer programme methodologies for urban settings.
The flow of the toolkit follows the logical order of a project cycle and contains both guidance and examples of tools. It provides generic tools and guidance that can be quickly adapted for different urban settings. All tools described in this toolkit are adapted from and based upon real urban project experiences involving a variety of organisations and contexts.
Tools described in this toolkit can be downloaded from the CaLP website in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint format. Additional manuals and documents listed in the bibliography provide detailed discussions on how to choose which type of cash programming, and general guidance on cash transfer implementation.
Interactive mapping tool for cash transfer programmes
The CaLP has developed a cash mapping tool aiming to visually represent the usage of cash transfer programmes (CTP) at a global level. It is a tool to support advocacy and learning exchange.
Key features of the tool include:
- Interactive map representing the number of projects at several levels of information and zoom
- Extractable data at any level allowing users to save and use it
- Contact database
- Graph generation module allowing users to analyse trends (TBC)
- Restricted access to respect confidentiality in security-sensitive areas
- Available in English, French and Spanish
Key information displayed include:
- Name of the implementing agency and contact details
- Location, budget and timeline of the project
- Donors
- Sectors and objectives
- Modality, distribution mechanisms and delivery agents
You can enter data about your projects so they appear on the map
