The GTAM Consultant Rosters: A new service for field actors

Published:

The Global Technical Assistance Mechanism for Nutrition (GTAM), co-led by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and World Vision, is a common global approach endorsed by over 40 Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC) partners to provide systematic, predictable, timely and coordinated nutrition technical support to countries to meet the nutrition rights and needs of people affected by emergencies.

The GTAM has established rosters of vetted consultants to enable in-country actors to source technical expertise quickly. There are five different rosters, each covering a specific technical area:

  • Community management of acute malnutrition (CMAM)
  • Infant and young child feeding in emergencies (IYCF-E)
  • Micronutrient supplementation in emergencies
  • Integrated nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions
  • Needs assessment and analysis for nutrition outcomes (SMART, IYCF-E, coverage surveys and qualitative assessments)

The GTAM Consultant Rosters are made up of a large pool of candidates who have been through an extensive and transparent vetting process. Candidates have demonstrated technical capabilities and range from junior to senior level. Any in-country partner, agency, cluster, sector or technical working group can use the service. Users can place a request and receive a recommendation of a maximum of three candidates within three working days. This service is free. The subsequent hiring process and fee negotiations remain entirely the responsibility of the requestor.
