Last week, ENN hosted a three-day in-person meeting at the University of Oxford's St Anne’s College for the IFE Core Group Steering Committee plus several other key members of the IFE Core Group, to discuss the findings of the mid-term review of the IFE Core Group strategy period conducted in 2023.
The discussion revolved around refining the IFE Core Group’s mission, vision, identity and purpose, reviewing IFE Core Group membership criteria, identifying what members bring to the IFE Core Group and what their roles and responsibilities are. The meeting also reviewed the IFE Core Group’s emerging challenges/opportunities, the role the IFE Core Group plays as part of the Global Nutrition Cluster and the need to form new partnerships, to ensure the IFE Core Group continues to strengthen their approach to effectively serve vulnerable populations globally.
Despite the packed schedule, the IFE Core Group had very fruitful discussions with great engagement and input from ENN colleagues, Steering Committee members, donors, UN organisations, NGO representatives and other stakeholders, thus making a significant step towards reinforcing the collective commitment to safeguarding infant and young child feeding in emergencies.
