Global Technical Assistance Mechanism for Nutrition
ENN is the Knowledge management and monitoring partner for the Global Technical Assistance Mechanism for Nutrition (GTAM) led by UNICEF and World Vision. The mechanism, which is currently under development, aims to improve support for countries facing humanitarian situations to meet the nutrition rights and needs of people affected by an emergency. It will do this where country and regional capacities are limited by mobilising global resources to address unresolved technical issues with advice, consensus driven guidance and specialised technical expertise. See this 1 page brief on GTAM for more information on what GTAM is, why it was developed and what it aims to do. ENN is a member of the GTAM coordination team (together with UNICEF, GNC, World Vision, and the Technical Rapid Response team) who are guiding and supporting the development and implementation of the mechanism and our online discussion forum en-net is one of the key resources that GTAM will be linking to. Our specific role in the GTAM is to monitor and document the development and functioning of the mechanism against it’s objectives (utilising our existing publications to share this with the wide nutrition community), and to support the development and dissemination of specific knowledge products in response to the needs identified through the system.
