Au Niger, il existe une tradition de choisir un ban, une manière d’applaudir de manière rythmée, pour célébrer un événement spécial au sein d'un groupe. A la demande du Docteur NASSIROU Ousmane, Directeur de la Nutrition au Niger au Docteur OUMAROU Zaratou, Néonatologie, un ban a été créé pour la prise en charge des nourrissons âgés de moins de 6 mois, petits et à risque nutritionnel et leurs mères (MAMI). Voici le résultat, avec nos remerciements à tous les participants du Ministère de la santé, de la population et des affaires sociales du Niger et l’équipe USAID MOMENTUM Résilience Sanitaire Intégrée au Niger.

In Niger, there is a tradition of choosing a “ban”, a way of clapping rhythmically, to celebrate a special event within a group. At the request of Doctor NASSIROU Ousmane, Director of Nutrition in Niger, and Doctor OUMAROU Zaratou, Neonatology, a ban was created for the care of small and nutritionally at-risk infants under 6 months and their mothers (MAMI). Here is the result, with our thanks to all the participants from the Ministry of Health, Population and Social Affairs of Niger and the USAID MOMENTUM Integrated Health Resilience team in Niger.

The actions described in French are: look at your baby, rock your baby, put the baby to the breast and feed, and encourage others to pass on the message to support vulnerable mother infant pairs.
