MAMI Technical work – priority areas

ENN, LSHTM and the Steering Committee consult on priority areas for action.  Current areas include:

  • Deep-dive case studies: Various agencies are writing up country experiences of using MAMI tools and initiatives. ENN has developed a research tool for this work and published experiences in Pakistan, South Sudan and Yemen.
  • Policy review: Scoping all documents relevant to under six months and their mothers.
  • Feeding difficulties and disability: We try to keep a focus on infants under six months across evidence, practice and policy. See Identifying and supporting infants under 6-months with feeding difficulties and disabilities: an overview of resources and evidence
  • Support to WHO 2023 wasting guidelines uptake: we are an active part of sub working groups and co-chair the group on under 6 months.
  • Mothers in MAMI: we are supporting research and policy work to promote attention to mothers and potential mothers (adolescents) including wellbeing and relaxation
  • MUAC in infants under six months: we have supported documentation of work around use of a MultiMUAC tape for measuring both infants and their mothers.
